Preliminary data from the tornado that touched down in Marathon County and damaged at least 75 homes has been published by the NWS.

Many of the storms have been concentrated in the Upper Midwest, but the threat will extend much further on Friday.

One tornado was confirmed in Oklahoma on Tuesday night by the National Weather Service, with others possible nationwide. Here's the latest updates.

City officials announced debris removal crews will return Monday, April 20, to areas hardest hit by the April 15 storm, cleaning up what’s still left in public rights-of-way along designated streets. The city has mapped out an emergency operations area for debris removal and damage assessment.

All three tornadoes confirmed in New York this year have occurred in Cattaraugus County. Last year, the state had seven tornadoes. In 2024, New York set a state record with 33 tornadoes. The state has averaged 10 tornadoes per year since 1990.

Assessment teams are expected to ask questions from the state of Michigan’s damage assessment survey, such as whether a home is owned or rented, if a home is insured and if a home is a primary residence. They also may obtain details about residents’ experience with the storm and post-storm recovery.

A reported tornado in Lena, Illinois, about 47 miles west of Rockford, has caused extensive storm damage, including possibly to schools that had students inside at the time.
